How I quit social media

Well, hello there, you’ve clicked here either because just interested in what I’m up to. Or you really want to know how to stop using social media because it’s just the stupidest way to waste time. And it is a waste when we start preferring social media over real life relationships, stop focusing on our own lives or start putting hours into creating the online persona.

Basically, if your life sucks and you think it’s because of social media, here are two ways I used to quit social media for roughly 3 months.

Method 1: Get a brother to do it

So the first time I did it was when I went to my brother(who can also be a close friend) and asked him to change my Facebook password. Now obviously, I could have used the change password option and accessed my accounts, and cheated.

But it would have been easier if I’d just call and ask him, right? But that’s when you don’t want to lose to the commitment you’ve made that involved a third party. Losing sucks, but if someone else knows that you lost, it sucks even more.

Method 2: Impossible Password

The last social media I was actively using was Snapchat. So this time, I changed the password to a random string of digits and copied that text into a note-taking application. And just by doing that, I never logged into Snapchat again… I could. Still, going through all the hassle of finding copying the password and downloading the app is just too much.

And that’s how you can quit social media…

… at least for a while.
