Khudkaar.com was not only a project to help us learn Software Engineering fundamentals it also was attempt at helping a social aware student startup to grow even more.
The site is incomplete as it still is being run on heroku servers and linked with the actual domain.
What is khudkaar?
Khud Kaar is a social enterprise working to create employment opportunities for unemployed and lift them up from scratch. It is committed to get them access to market and help them in setting their businesses. It is specifically designed to help unemployed women and the hostelite students. Its aim is to enable women to sell their home-made products such as hygienic food, beautiful art work and amazing handicrafts, and to allow students to get all these products at affordable prices.
What did we envision?
Our application will allow unemployed people to sell their homemade products online and earn a reasonable amount. We also have a freelance portal that shows profiles of the users with some kind of useful skill (such as art and drawing, photoshop, animation and so on) so that they can work part time and serve our customers. Similarly, our customers will be able to search for various profiles and select the right people for their required work.
What did we achieve?
We made a deeply functional online retail store. It lacked finesse but provided ample opportunity to learn from this project. We are looking forward to work with the clients of KhudKaar in order to play our part in the betterment of the community.
